App Title

The app title is the most heavily weighted ASO field; including a high-value keyword in it can dramatically improve ranking for that term.

The app title (or app name) is the bold text under your icon, limited to 30 characters on the App Store. It is the single most influential field for keyword ranking — a term placed in the title ranks far more strongly than the same term in the subtitle or keyword field.

The art is balancing brand and keyword. A pure brand name (“Headspace”) wastes ranking potential; a keyword-stuffed title (“Sleep – Meditation – Calm – Relax”) looks spammy and hurts trust. The strongest pattern is “Brand: primary keyword phrase”.

Because it drives both ranking and first impressions, the title deserves more deliberation than any other metadata field.
