Apple Search Tags

Apple Search Tags are structured keyword tags Apple uses to categorize apps and surface them for relevant searches and browse collections.

Apple Search Tags are descriptive labels Apple associates with an app to help its search and browse systems understand what the app is about. Some are derived automatically from your metadata and category; others come from editorial curation and structured inputs in App Store Connect.

Tags influence which collections, “you might also like” rows, and search refinements your app appears in. While developers don’t control every tag directly, you influence them through precise category selection, a focused keyword field, and a clear, consistent value proposition across your metadata.

Treat tags as a signal of how Apple classifies your app: the cleaner and more specific your positioning, the more accurately you get tagged — and the more relevant your impressions become.
