Impressions

An impression is counted each time your app appears to a user in search or browse — the top of the ASO funnel before taps and installs.

An impression is recorded each time your app’s icon or listing is shown to a user, whether in search results, a category chart, a featured collection, or a “you might also like” row. Impressions sit at the very top of the ASO funnel.

More impressions mean more visibility, but they’re only valuable if they convert. The two ratios that turn impressions into growth are tap-through rate (impressions → product page views) and conversion rate (views → installs).

Watching impressions alongside conversion helps diagnose problems: falling impressions usually point to a visibility/ranking issue, while high impressions with low taps point to a weak icon or unappealing first screenshot.
