Long-tail Keywords
Long-tail keywords are longer, more specific multi-word search phrases that are easier to rank for and often convert better.
Long-tail keywords are specific phrases of three or more words — “interval running timer for beginners” rather than “running.” Individually they have low volume, but collectively they make up the majority of all searches and carry higher intent.
They are the backbone of new-app ASO: competition is thin, so ranking is achievable quickly, and because the searcher describes exactly what they want, conversion tends to be strong.
The winning approach is to accumulate many long-tail rankings while gradually building the authority needed to compete for the broader head terms.
