App Indexing

App indexing exposes in-app content to search engines so it can appear in web results and deep-link directly into the app.

App indexing is the practice of making your in-app content discoverable by search engines (and increasingly AI assistants) so that individual screens appear in results and link straight into the app. It bridges web SEO and ASO.

Implemented through standards like Android App Links, Apple Universal Links, and structured data, indexing lets a user who searches the web find your app’s content and open it in place if the app is installed — or be guided to install it if not.

As discovery shifts toward answer engines, indexed, well-structured content also makes your app more likely to be cited by LLMs.
