Keyword Density
Keyword density in ASO is how often a keyword appears across your indexable metadata fields — enough to signal relevance, without wasteful repetition.
Keyword density is the frequency with which a target keyword appears across an app’s indexable metadata: the title, subtitle, and keyword field on iOS, or the title, short description, and long description on Google Play.
On the App Store, repeating a keyword does not increase ranking — a term only needs to appear once to be indexed. The optimal strategy is breadth: cover as many distinct relevant terms as possible rather than repeating one. On Google Play, moderate repetition in the long description can reinforce relevance, but stuffing triggers quality penalties and hurts readability.
The practical rule: index each important keyword once, prioritize the highest-value terms in the title, and never sacrifice conversion-driving copy to cram in repeats.
